Applying a LinX sensor is easy. Follow these instructions.
Step 1
Choose sensor location
Decide whether to place sensor on the abdomen or arm.
Abdomen: Avoid the waistband, abdominal wrinkles, scars, belt-wearing area, and stretch marks.
Make sure the sensor site is at least 5cm away from your navel.
Upper arm: A fatty part of the back of the upper arm (Don't place on the muscles on the outer side of the upper arm.)
Step 2
Prepare the area
Shave if the area is hairy. Body hair can stop the sensor sticking to you properly.
Sterilize: Before application, clean the site with an alcohol wipe or hand sanitiser and let it dry completely.
Step 3
Unscrew the cover from the sensor applicator. Set the cover aside.
Step 4
Place the opening of the applicator on the skin where you want to apply it.
Press it firmly on the skin.
Then press the launch button on the applicator. You’ll hear a spring. Hold for five seconds with applicator pressed on your skin to make sure the sensor sticks properly.
There is a needle in the applicator (but it doesn’t stay in your arm). This will automatically hide in the applicator.
Step 5
Gently pull the sensor applicator away from the body,.
The sensor should now be attached to the skin.
Put the cover back on the sensor applicator and dispose of it.
You don't need over-patches with this sensor.
Step 6
Connect your sensor with the Limbo app.
It should scan and find the sensor.
You don’t need the Linx app. Uninstall if already downloaded.
Sensor information
⚪️ The sensor is located inside the green sensor applicator. The sensor has a small, flexible filament that is inserted just under the skin.
🗓️ Each sensor lasts up to 15 days.
🗑️ The unit is disposable but not recyclable. Throw it away after 15 days of use. It's normal to have a little blood on the sensor, so dispose of it hygienically.
📈 CGM readings should only be used as a reference to help you manage your Limbo programme. They should not be used for any kind of clinical diagnosis.
🩸Readings are taken from your interstitial fluid, not your blood. so they may not be as accurate as a blood test.
🏊 The sensor is waterproof and you can wear it when bathing showering or swimming. It's been tested to 2.5 metres deep and for immersion up to 2 hours. Avoid taking it in water that is deeper or for longer than 2 hours.
🩻 You need to remove the sensor before an MRI scan.
⚠️ The sensor contains many small parts including a battery, that can be harmful if swallowed. Don't let children play with them.
