4. Connect Apple Health

Connect scales and fitness tracking devices that sync with Apple Health. This will also allow other apps to log activities to your timeline.

You can use your own scales and fitness tracking devices as long as they connect to Apple Health. This will also allow other apps (e.g. Peloton) to log activities to your timeline.

The best way to weigh in with Limbo is using digital scales that log your weight automatically. Here's a list in case you need to buy some.

A. On your Limbo  profile screen, connect Apple Health

Apple HealthLimbo connects to Apple Health to gain specialised insights into your personal health and uses it to individualise your feedback.

Limbo is most effective when the app has permission to use Apple Health and all the categories in Health are turned on.

This step is essential to allow  you to log your weight and link your other devices so they provide your body’s data to Limbo app (such as your heart rate)

To set up:

  1. Open the Limbo app and navigate to the devices menu. Scroll to the right and click on Health to start connection
  2. Open the Apple Health app on your iPhone. Tap on your profile icon, under privacy tap on Apps, choose the Limbo app and choose Turn all categories on.

The Limbo app will now be able to see any data that Apple Health receives, such as heart rate or steps. Make sure to wear a smart device (such as an Apple Watch) to ensure as much data as possible.

B. Time for your first weigh-in

Now that you've connected it's time to add your first entry to the timeline - your starting weight.

Limbo wants you to weight in 3 times a week so it can give you the best possible guidance. Don't worry about that weight fluctuating - it's normal.

If you don't have digital scales, there's a workaround. But please get some digital scales!

C. What you'll see in Limbo

HeartLimbo analysts use a vast amount of data from body temperature to sleep quality to individualise your programme, but we don't feed all this information back to you. This is deliberately designed not to overwhelm you with data.

What you will see and manage:

Energy state
The number in the top left is your live energy state. The green line records that energy state on a timeline.

Heart rate
You’ll now be able to see your heart rate, displayed as red dots and red numbers on the side of the graph. Toggle display on and off using the HR (heart rate) icon.

Weight
Your weight will now automatically be logged on your timeline whenever you use your scales.

Engagement
You get a score for how much you engage with the programme each day.
