Protein - How do I know if I’m eating enough protein?

If your blood glucose is dropping very low at night you could need to increase your protein.

It might seem strange, but it is what happens while you are asleep that indicates whether you need to eat more protein.

Overnight your body is focused on recovery; filing your memories, reinforcing what you have learnt, repairing muscles and cells, and many more things.

When you are in Limbo protein becomes the source of energy for your body to fuel these activities, as well as providing the building blocks for repairing your cells. If there is not enough protein you can’t produce enough glucose, and so there is a dip in blood glucose. This means your recovery resources are stretched, and you need to increase protein intake.
